Nourishment on the edge

Nourishment on the edge

Keeping eyes open through kindling inner warmth

This day retreat will include an exploration on the potency of loving kindness (translated as metta in pali, the language spoken in the time of the Buddha) to meet and melt obstacles (sometimes referred to as mara in Buddhist texts).

We will look into the ‘sustaining warmth’ needed to keep our eyes open and not turn away from what’s arising within us as well as the inequities flaring around us.

What qualities are needed in our living practice as men, women, or whatever else we may go by, to meet these powerful and alarming times?

What do we need to ‘look out for’ when we feel inwardly under threat?

How can we keep our eyes open and not be hoodwinked by perceived fear?

How can we be less predictable in the way we relate with what makes us uncomfortable?

How can we go against the grain and bring nourishment to the edge?

Let’s generate some heat together through sincere practice and explore these matters.

Every-one, near and far, welcome!

We would love you to join us!
